Blogging, ugh. I'd rather be painting a big juicy canvas.
I REALLY despise writing. I would much prefer to paint, to photograph my paintings, to post on social or an ocean or lakeside walk (re: gathering west coast ref photos for painting). However,

I have lived my entire life on Canada’s west coast, bathed in the light of the Pacific landscape but sometimes, things happen that reshape the way we look at the world around us…
The palette, the technique and why I framed The Reflection Collection
I strictly used three colours: black, burnt umber and pthalo blue, allowing the water on the canvas to spontaneously and unpredictably mix the colour for me. I drench the canvas in water and randomizing add dabs of these three paint colours, then very quickly spread and shape the paint with a spatula and palette knife.

I can’t say that I believe in any higher power but there was something magical that occurred that morning. Not something I can put aptly into words but more of a feeling, like goosebumps in my soul. A shift in my being. Creative inspiration of the highest level.
