Winter’s Hush

My Winter’s Hush collection is a celebration of nature’s quiet poetry and the interplay between memory and artistic expression. Each painting—Silent, Hush, and Whisper—reflects the muted elegance of winter on the Pacific Northwest coast. Through layers of fluid acrylics and heavy body paints, I’ve built rich, textured compositions enhanced by delicate glazing techniques, which create a luminous, atmospheric depth. These original acrylic paintings on canvas evoke a sense of tranquility and timelessness, perfect for Collectors who value both fine craftsmanship and emotional resonance in their art.

What makes these works unique is the incorporation of photo transfer techniques. These blurred remnants of past images represent the hazy boundaries of memory. By rubbing away most of the original photo, I strip it to its essence, then reinterpret it with brushstrokes of what I recall. The result is a dance between past and present—a deeply personal yet universally relatable exploration of nostalgia, presence, and reinterpretation.

Each piece in the collection can be framed in custom wood float frames handcrafted by my friend Peter, a skilled local woodworker. Available in walnut, white oak, maple, and fir, these frames complement the warm, contemporary aesthetic of the paintings and elevate their presence in any room. Whether displayed individually or as a cohesive grouping, the Winter’s Hush collection shines in warm contemporary, nature-inspired interiors.

These acrylic landscape paintings are ideal for collectors looking for unique wall art that captures the beauty of nature and the quiet allure of winter. If you’re searching for original art that speaks to the soul and enhances your home with a sophisticated, serene touch, the Winter’s Hush collection is perfect. Bring the Pacific Northwest’s soft hush into your space and feel the calming whispers of the ocean and forest every day.
